Cooperation And Conflict: An Interactive Study Of Official And Folk Opinion Fields In Online Mass Incidents

With the popularity of the Internet, anonymous network environment allows the public to freely speak their minds, create public opinion through the network, which has a significant impact on the virtual society and the real world. Based on this objective environment, in recent years, internet mass incidents happen frequently. It can be said that the network group event is the result of the interaction between the two opinion fields. For a long time, the party newspaper, official media as the representative of the official public opinion field dominated the network of public opinion. And the rise from the media gave birth to the "civil public opinion field", and it frequently highlights the importance, and even competes with the official public opinion field to seize the right to speak. Such a public opinion field situation will inevitably lead to cooperation or conflict. Dialectically understanding the interaction between the two public opinion fields is conducive to promoting cooperation between the two public opinion fields, to reduce friction and conflict with each other, so as to maintain the healthy development of network society.Based on the above thinking, this paper chooses the "Wei Zexi event" which attracted wide attention from Internet users in 2016, and adopted the research method of qualitative and quantitative research to study the interaction between the two public opinion fields in the network mass event. The study suggests that the two opinion fields are dominated by different capital and show different characteristics, which resulted in cooperation and conflict . The paper demonstrates that the development of network technology provides an objective condition for interaction,the social contradictions and the lack of government credibility promote the official public opinion field to strategically choose to cooperate with the civil public opinion field.On the other hand, the objective environment of risk society has bringed various social contradictions. Under the current special national conditions, the public is more inclined to regard folk opinion as a channel of interest demands. But the folk opinion field generates a variety of polarized emotions, which produce "unrealistic conflict"with the official public opinion field easily.When the official public opinion field can not be response to the needs of civil opinion field timely and accurately,it will produce conflict and friction. For example, the government's treatments do not meet the public expectations; official opinion field discourse is not specific or strict.While the official public opinion field releases information timely, establishes a new media platform, or be response to the needs of civil opinion field, the civil public opinion field will consciously cooperate to the official public opinion field.In view of the interaction between the two public opinion fields, the author puts forward some suggestions on the way of public opinion management in order to promote the benign communication between the two public opinion fields and thus play their respective positive roles.
