Research On The Development Trend And Coping Strategies Of Female Terrorism

Since the late 20 th century,terrorism has been becoming worse and worse all around the world,resulting in a large number of casualties and huge economic losses,posing a major threat to the international order.In the several waves of terrorism,not only the occurrence frequency of women become more and more high,but also the roles they played have becoming richer.This phenomenon has becoming an important development trend of contemporary terrorism.The concept of “Female terrorism” is defined as women’s participation in terrorist activities by Western scholars.The international community doesn’t take enough attention on Female Terrorism all the time,even in the country where female terrorism takes place frequently.At the same time,the research on female terrorism is also rare.Therefore,the systematic research on Female terrorism is very important.The paper takes the global female terrorism as the research object,based on the “global terrorism database " and " Chicago Project on Suicide Terrorism” two databases,using the methods of quantitative and qualitative to analysis the concept,characteristics,history,development trend,the reason behind the development and growth,and then putting forward countermeasures.According to the research,the paper wants to elaborate four viewpoints:(1)The perspective of gender should be adapted to analysis the difference of female terrorism.(2)Such as revenge,Redemption,and rape are not the common feature that female join in terrorism but one or some of them.Gender quality and role created by society is the common point that female become terrorists.(3)Social gender system and tradition provide “fertile soil” for female terrorism.(4)To deal with female terrorism,long-standing strategies as well as feasible countermeasures should be made.Working hard through the two points could reduce and remove the threat of female terrorism step by step.
