As China's sports cause booms, sports training becomes more scientific and systematic, the sprint level has made great strides with the 10-second mark in 100-metre dash broken. There, however, is a certain gap between China and sprinting powers, especially in the 200-meter race. Receiving scientific training that emphasizing basis things helps to narrow the gap, thus to upgrade China's performance in sprint. As a form of basic training, extracurricular training, an essential part of school education, shows the way of cultivating of sports reserve forces. Extracurricular training has a great significance for fully implementing the party's education policy, promoting students' all-round development morality, intelligence and physique, and cultivating of track and field reserve forces. It also forms the basis of China's development of competitive sports and overall fitness strategy. Doing a good job in extracurricular training not only promotes students' all-round development, but also lays a solid foundation for cultivating excellent sports-teaching professionals and athletic talents. On the basis of research and observation, however, the author found that there are some problems in the extracurricular training of 200-meter race in middle schools to be resolved. The problems are as follows:1 The lack of corresponding extracurricular training theory guidance.2 The lack of effective means of extracurricular training.3 The objective problems of students who participate in extracurricular training. So with these problems in mind, the author researched middle schools that have male teams of extracurricular training, consulting corresponding coaches and observing corresponding training methods. Based on the methods of documentary, expert interview and mathematical statistics, the author developed a new training system for male middle school students to participate in extracurricular training of 200-meter race. Under the guidance of several professional coaches, the eight-month long experiment was performed on 12 middle school students aged from 17 to 19. Having scientifically analyzed corresponding training methods, contents in each cycle, loads, arrangements and effects, this paper came to the following conclusions:1 The adopted methods for in extracurricular training of 200-meter race in middle should be simple, effective and focused, thus to yield twice the result with half the effort. During the process of training, we should not only pay attention to the comprehensive physical development featuring speed, strength and specific skill, but also the psychological quality of athletes.2 On the basis of the comprehensive development of physical quality, 200-meter race athletes should receive the training featuring both high-intensity and high-density as a way to solve the problems caused by less training time and short training cycle, thus to improve the quality of training.3 With various factors taken into account, the training mainly focused on speed and strength so as to improve the scores of special training:(1) the speed training focused on response speed and speed endurance.(2) The strength training mainly focused on explosive force according to according to students' situation.(3)Technical aspects, due to participate in the 200 meters after school training, the level of training of high school students is low. So the aim is to ensure that the action is reasonable, and the actual effect of the development is emphasized.4 Thanks to the eight-month training, the students' special 200 meters results have more obvious improvement. Through the data analysis, there is a significant difference between the training results and before the training, which shows that the training scheme is feasible to a certain extent.
