College is an important field to train young talents, especially university education, which serves as a bridge from school to society and plays a crucial role on a person's lifelong development. Currently, many university students have no interest in their own major. For some of them, the reason that they attend school is for a better chance to get a job in the future. Some others even go to school to please their parents and get only a diploma finally. Although varieties of teaching methods have been added to college education to increase students' interest in learning, traditional teaching methods still occupy the principal position. However, traditional teaching methods are simple with "spoon-feeding" teaching, which is exceptionable for most of the students. After going through a lot of literature works, I realized that situational teaching method is often used in youth academic education such as Chinese and English or used in primary schools or child sports aerobics, we have achieved some research results, but rarely applied to university students or aerobics. Situational teaching method is an approach in which teachers consciously create certain vivid and specific scenes in specific teaching process according to some teaching purpose to drive classroom atmosphere and stimulate students' attitude. In that way, students will get better understanding about the teaching content; thereby they could obtain a better development in both their body and mind. In other words, it emphasizes that students can be put in a real situation or imagined environment through teacher's description in which they can learn knowledge and be stimulated to have more interest and enthusiasm in learning. In the process of implementation of teaching, the author based on the characteristics of contemporary college students, use the situational teaching method to university students' aerobics and give full play to the advantages of it in order to improve university students' overall academic performance and interest in learning.This paper has carried on the experimental study in the School of Physical Education in Yantai University, selecting two classes of 2014 students with 28 students in each class. This paper mainly adopted methods of documentary, expert interviews, questionnaires, experiments, mathematical statistics, logical analysis and etc. to analyze the feasibility of situational teaching method to stimulate learning interest in aerobics. By the mode of experimental teaching, this paper also verified the effectiveness and superiority of situational teaching method. Through a semester of experimental study, this paper got a lot of necessary data, and drew following conclusions by data analysis and comparison: Firstly, the use of the situational teaching in college aerobics teaching can stimulate students' interest in learning, correct attitude towards learning;Secondly, using situational teaching method in college aerobics teaching can effectively improve the quality of teaching, the students' academic performance and basic skills, and achieve the teaching goals;Thirdly, the application of the situational teaching in college aerobics teaching can improve students' engagement, draw their attention and increase the enthusiasm of learning. Finally, applying the situational teaching method in college aerobics teaching can improve students' ability of self-exploration and cooperative learning;Trough thinking and inquiring the topic of the study of the situational teaching method to stimulate the students' Aerobics learning interest, this paper theoretically provides not only a new direction in the development of situational teaching method in teaching field, but also new teaching methods for the physical education of college students. Furthermore, in practice this study provides valuable instructions for college aerobics education and teaching activities. And the successful experience of applying situational teaching method in college aerobics teaching can be used for reference for the aerobics teaching in primary and secondary schools or other physical education.
