Elder women problem is not only the center of aging problem but the important content of the gender equality issue. Compared to older men, older women have the characteristics of the lower level of education, the most of income depending on the family, the lower economic participation, the high rate of lost spouse. With the degree of aging feminization population deepening, how to build a space of gender equality for older women from the perspective of gender becomes the important problem our government facing. Community is the main living place of the group of older women. Sexes different retirement policy in our country community results in aging females and the elderly population larger and larger, and most of elderly women in the urban community give priority to doing the housework, except for taking part in the activities of the nearby community at fixed time. Relative to the elderly school, the characteristics of community elderly education with its flexibility, participation, low cost, accessibility is very perfect for elderly women.As the study case is a community in Nanjing city, a medium for the community good-neighborly hall about older school in order that we discusses the present situation of the urban elderly women who participate in community elderly education and have an impact on the positive aging of women. The survey suggests that most of the housework for urban community elderly women is to take their grandchildren and they pay higher attention to the health and security awareness; In terms of social participation, although many older women have a strong desire for social participation, especially the older women with the higher education who have higher pursuit in the aspect of self-realization, but because of the limitation of objective conditions in the community, there is a big contrast between desire and reality; The establishment of the old school is to create an important community participation platform for a community elderly women. Studies show that the elderly community education is a effective path promoting urban community elderly women positive aging:participation in community elderly education help older women to form a positive attitude to aging and equal gender concept, promote them into the community and raise the level of mental health. It makes the community elderly education lack of resource that aged education resources aren't balanced in our country, government departments at all levels lack of enough attention on the community elderly education and community education have multiple management,especially the traditional gender culture directly affects the enthusiasm of older women to participate in the activities of community education.Based on the reference of foreign elderly education in communities experience, this study offer the three aspects to promote the urban elderly women to participate in elderly education:Firstly, renewing idea:promoting the older women to restructure the gender concepts, changing the negative attitude of older women and shaping their individual spiritual world.Secondly, system guarantee:perfecting laws of the elderly education in communities, playing the primary role in the government management and building unique education model.Thirdly, mechanism innovation:taking full advantages of social organizations, encouraging older women to management by themselves and promoting the elderly women to actively participate in community affairs in order to positive aging, improve the quality of life for them.
