| As the most influential and sophisticated tool in human history, the Internet has comprehensively changed modern lifestyle, including the living environment and the conduct of adolescents. More importantly, internet brings along a new way of communication-cyber-communication. The Internet has developed rapidly which makes it the most usable communication tools among middle school students. Being the most important component of network, adolescents are the most active ones, also the most vulnerable participants. The environment of Cyberspace adopts equality, interaction and concealment as its characteristics; people have a lot of freedom there. Cyber-communication becomes the most important way of interpersonal communication approaches. At the same time, cyber-communication brings far-reaching influence to people. Middle school students are on their way from children to adults, immature to mature. So, it will help teachers and researchers to get the grasp of adolescents’moral growth for us to study the influence of cyber-communication on them. This study combines the method of quantitative and qualitative research. Comparing with the results of the study in the year of 2006, we have found some new changes of middle school students’ cyber-communication from analyzing the data. Meanwhile, we combine the personal interviews to explore the cyber-communication influence on middle school students’ moral growth. The study has found that cyber-communication has been prevailing among middle school students since 2006.Students’ attitudestowards choosing net friends is less prudent than ever. And emotional needs, as well as communication needs, are still the main reasons why students are keen to cyber-communication. The number of the students who have the experience of net love drops slightly, while the number of the students who are addicted to cyber-communication increases. The Internet communication has been developing over a decade, something changes, and something stays the same that is a double-edged sword of the middle school students’moral growth. The free and openness in network communication make students more self-confident, independent and sound in body and mind. It’s beneficial for students. However, virtuality and de-individualization in network results in the Language anomie, losing oneself, and weak emotional environment, which is bad for student’s moral growth. The study is focused on the influence of cyber-communication on middle school students. And we hope the study could offer some help to educators in the moral education on middle school students. |
