Nowadays the rapid development of society accelerates environmental changes and the innovation of modern technology has brought prominent changes and updates to people's lifestyles. College students is an important reserve talented team for construction and development of society. Since entering the university, they shoulder the important task of developing their own. Four-years college life is the golden time of life to become a useful person. at this stage, physiological and psychological state of college students gradually become more mature. the opportunity to participate in social activities increases, interaction with peers increases and reliance on the family gradually weakens, so each college freshmen will have a process of adaptation.The main purpose of this paper is to carry out freshmen's adaptability research under the guidance of the theory of Group Work so as to assist freshmen through the adaptation period as soon as possible. Through literature research, questionnaire, comparative analysis, interviews, it is concluded that freshmen in Kashgar University have problems of life adaptation, learning adaptation, interpersonal adaptation and ability adaptation. The reasons include family environment, social support, gender, nationality, personality characteristic, self-evaluation and psychological adjustment. In order to prevent college freshmen from adaptation problems, This paper puts forward the following suggestions:strengthen the propaganda of Social Work and bring the school social work method into the student work system; pay close attention to the freshmen's adaptation dynamic to help them establish effective social support networks; attach importance to adaptation of the minority freshmen and enrich education forms for freshmen.This paper is mainly divided into the following six chapters:The first chapter is the introduction:firstly introduces the background, significance and methods of research, a detailed description of the methodology; and then summarizes the research review on the basis of the domestic and foreign literature analysis, finally defines key concepts and determines guiding theoretical basis.The second chapter is the investigation and analysis of Kashgar University freshmen's adaptation situation:after mastering the basic information of Kashgar University, the author went through the questionnaire design-deciding the respondents performing investigation-results analysis so as to describe freshmen's specific adaptation situation in Kashgar university, which provides factual basis for the later group work program design.The third chapter is freshmen adaptation problems and causes analysis:according to the survey results, This section states the new students adaptation problems, and then discusses the causes from the macro and micro levels for raising proposals blow.The fourth chapter is the feasibility and necessity of Group Work intervening college freshmen's adaptation problems:the feasibility is considerable because of the advantage of Group Work, which is wide-benefited range, high efficiency, strong influences. Besides the existing entrance education has shortcomings, showing the necessity and urgency of group work intervention.The fifth chapter is the strategies for Group Work intervening freshmen's adaptation problems:firstly make and implement the plan of group activity, and also record the process, and then evaluate the effect with process evaluation, worker self-assessment, interviews assessment, finally give suggestions for improvement.The sixth chapter is the conclusion and reflection:After a step-by-step demonstration, Group Work intervening freshmen's adaptation problems in Kashgar University is proved to be effective, it is desirable excavating the law applicable to the National College in subsequent studies.
