In recent years, geography curriculum and teaching cohesion in secondary school attract more and more teachers'and scholars'attention, but most of the research is for high school teaching, few teachers or scholars do research on the relationship between geography teaching of junior high school and junior and senior geography cohesion. Geography connection in secondary school not only needs effort of the high school geography teaching, but also the junior needs effort of middle school geography teaching. To promote the geography teaching smoothly in secondary school, this research attempts to solve the problem of difficulty to learn the geography for High school first year students, which results by geography teaching cohesion problem of secondary school, in the way of the geography teaching extension of junior middle school. On the one hand, it can alleviate the pressure of geography learning of high school students which due to various reasons, on the other hand, it can promote the students'comprehensive development of junior high school.Under the support of education and teaching theory, through contrast and analysis the geography new curriculum and textbooks of PEP edition of the secondary school and searching relevant documents, Do a survey to find the weak points of high school geography knowledge and the current situation of Junior Geography Teaching extends by using the method of questionnaire survey, observation, interview and case studies. And summed up the problems existing in the teaching of geography in secondary school according to analyzed the survey data, On this basis, combing the "geography knowledge chain" of secondary school, which as a junior high school geography teaching extension direction, and according to the characteristics of junior high school geography teaching to find out the appropriate teaching extension strategy. Then, this study gives two extension cases of geography teaching in junior middle school based on the "knowledge chain" and the teaching extension strategy.Draw the following conclusions:(1) The extension of geography teaching in junior middle school is relatively weak, and the geography teaching connection mainly depends on the senior high school teachers. Survey data shows that on the one hand, the junior middle school teachers failed to recognize the teaching extension of Geography in junior high school plays an important role on the junior and senior geography cohesion; On the other hand, junior high school geography teachers do not understand curriculum standards and textbooks of high school, and rarely take the initiative to be familiar within Junior middle school teaching. Because the junior high school geography teaching has not reached the desired effect, coupled with t geography study interrupt in the third year, geography knowledge of junior high school must be learned again in geography teaching of high school, even many schools to find out the time devoted to the review of junior high school geography knowledge.(2) According to the weak points of knowledge in senior high school, contrast and analysis the geography new curriculum and textbooks of PEP edition of the secondary school, student's knowledge base and cognitive level of junior high school, combing the junior and senior high school "knowledge chain" from the three aspects of knowledge and skill, process and method, emotion-attitude-price. Based on Curriculum PEP Geography Textbooks, combing 26 of knowledge, 6 of skill, 3 of process and method,4 of emotion-attitude-price.(3) According to the sort of content and students' cognitive level of junior high school, proposed geography teaching extension strategy:change ideas; to improve students' interest in learning geography; through a variety of learning methods, creating situations and other methods to improve students' ability in geography; through stories in the textbook, the typical news imperceptible to promote students' emotion-attitude-price of geography.(4) According to the "knowledge chain" and the extension strategy of the geography teaching in junior high school, two teaching cases are designed to improve the operability of teaching.
