Scaffolding teaching mode is a new kind of teaching mode with the interaction between teaching and learning.The scaffold is originally an assistant tool that often used in the construction site.In the teaching mode,the scaffold is a conceptual framework,where the teachers use it to assist the instruction and the students use it to increase knowledge and then to step into a further study.Among all the teaching modes proposed,scaffolding teaching mode is considered as the most possible candidate to optimize the results of learning.Based on former research of scaffolding teaching mode,this article firstly sums up different types of the scaffolding mode and their respective features and indicates the choosing principle.And then the article adopts both of theoretical and empirical research methodology such as the literature method,the questionnaire method,the interview method and teaching practice method,to research the application.Major conclusions are as follows:1.Through the investigation of the present status of the application,it's obvious that scaffolding teaching mode has not been used efficiently in today's educational system reform.Without a clearly understanding,the teachers couldn't make good use of the scaffolding teaching mode.They are unsatisfied with the traditional teaching effects,and in the other2.hand they suffer from the lack of efficient and suitable teaching mode.For the students' part,most of them present little interest in geography.But they are curious of the geography phenomenon in life and they could be attracted by the multimedia assisted instruction such as flash and video.3.Using scaffolding teaching mode to design conceptual knowledge lesson and principle reasoning session,a geography teaching experiment is carried out in high school students.By comparing the results and analyzing the feedback of teachers and students,it shows the great advantages of the scaffolding teaching mode and it is advisable to pursue it in high school geography teaching.4.Scaffolding teaching mode meets the requirements of current educational system reform and could realizes the change of teaching philosophy from teacher-oriented to student-oriented.It also realizes the curriculum transition from teaching-learning to effective interactive learning cultivation.What's more,it could divide the teaching task and then improves educational effect.5.Scaffolding teaching mode defines the leading and cooperative role orientation of the teacher and brings up new challenges for them.Meanwhile,it could fully exploit students' potential and improve the motivation,initiative and curiosity of learning.It enhances the capacity of independent exploration and cooperative learning and the6.problem-solving skills as well.
