As one of the three systems of geography textbook,image system plays an important role in high school geography teaching.The combination of image and text is the distinctive features of geography teaching.Geography image teaching that has important significance to cultivate students' abilities in geography,such as special imagination,logical thinking ability and the comprehensive analysis ability of space geographic elements.The new curriculum standard and the core geographic literacy specifically request that Geography teaching should pay more attention to cultivate the students' map skills.Although the quality of education has carried out for many years,but a lot of schools still can't get away from the bondage of exam-oriented education,performance in geography image teaching is that geography teachers pay much more attention to map knowledge,light the image literacy cultivation.Even many middle school teachers are lack of map quality,and they don't know how to implement the geography image teaching,unable to make a clear feasible goal of map skills.Many Schools have paid inadequate attention to geography,such as lack of image mapping and teaching software and hardware conditions,unable to provide geography teachers of images teaching of training programs.The Students not only pay little attention to geographical image,but also don't form a corresponding map.Therefore,the effectiveness of high school geography image teaching is a problem that geography teachers should pay attention to.This thesis mainly takes the methods of documentation method,questionnaire survey,the survey of interview and the image analysis method,in order to study the effective teaching of geography image,summary predecessors' image classification method of high school geography effective teaching strategy.Using the literature research,According to the function and nature of geography images,the geography images in the textbook of People's Education Press can be divided into five categories,respectively including map,geographic schematic diagram,geographical landscape,geographical statistical figure,comics,and subdivide out 16 class geographic image.Using this classification statistics that the number of images in the textbook of People's Education Press,and analysis the characteristics of images.The number of geographic images is 159 in high school geography compulsory one,including 12 image maps;the majority of geographic image is geographical landscape maps and geographic schematic diagram,the amount of 63 and 63 respectively,geographical statistics is 15,no geographic comics.The number of geographic images is 155 in Compulsory 2,of which the map of the large number,geographical landscape and geography diagram,respectively,38,41 and 44,the number of geographical statistical is 24;the number of geographical comic is 8.The number of geographic images is 128 in Compulsory 3,there are more the geographical landscapes,geographical maps and geographical statistical figure,portrait for 33,41 and 31.According to the analysis of the number of each geographic image's relationship with the teaching material content of the required geography textbook image.By applying the method of questionnaire,interviewing method to investigate present situation of the high school geography image teaching,collect statistics of the survey results,analysis reasons of the problem,finding the three reasons of inefficient teaching on geographic image three.First,the influence of examination-oriented education made the students not pay enough attention tothe geographical image;second,the way of geographic image studying is inappropriate;third,the students are lack of interest of image studying.Image teaching inefficient reason has three aspects,first,the idea of teaching should be changed;second,geography teaching professional accomplishment needs to be improved;third,the teachers have no perfect geography image teaching strategy.As to the ways of teaching evaluation and the environment,which is mainly lack of perfect geography image teaching evaluation ways and helpful external environment of teaching.Aiming at the problems in the effective image teaching that the teaching strategy should be put forward,respectively from the aspects of teachers,students,teaching environment and the media teaching countermeasures,designing the effective teaching procedures and steps about relevant teaching cases in detail in this paper,which is in order to provide practical support for the research of the effectiveness of geography image teaching at present.
