School-Based Curriculum Development(SBCD),guided by school culture and features,is developed by multi-parts such as teachers,students,curriculum experts parents and so on.It is mainly organized,conducted and evaluated by certain teachers in certain schools.It aims at the individual progress of students,quality improvement of teachers and the development of schools.SBCD is the update on curriculum ideology and the challenge of traditional education.As the progress of reform on elementary educational curriculum and policies on three-level curriculum management system,SBCD becomes the urgent demands of teachers,students and schools.More and more schools are involved in SBCD.Moreover,many schools obtain brilliant achievements.Currently,SBCD is carries out with great passion in the author's school.However,some problems are exposed in the course,they exert negative influence on the development.After analyzing the current situation in author's primary school,this paper will focus on the problems existing in the course of SBCD and find out the main causes of these problems.In addition,it demonstrates the corresponding solutions summarized in author's practice.This paper mainly consists of five parts:The first part is introduction.It illustrates the background information from the macro,meso and micro perspective,demonstrate the history of this research at home and abroad and analyze the current academic research situation so as to prove the necessity and feasibility of this project.Besides,it raises the research aims,principles,significance and the research technique.The second part is the overview of this research.In this part,the definition of School-based Curriculum and English School-Based Curriculum Development is concretely demonstrated.The value of this study is also fully illustrated here.In addition,two basic development models are introduced,one is Schwab's Practice Model,the other is Stenhouse's Process Model.The third part includes the review of development history and current situation in the author's school,problems on curriculum objectives,curriculum content,curriculum implementation and curriculum assessment through conducting students' questionnaire and teachers' interview,this part is ended with the author's rational analysis about cause.In the fourth part,the author puts forward the corresponding solutions to the problems mentioned above.The author proposes the solutions as follows,we should formulate curriculum goals specifically,compile the concrete content systematically,conduct the curriculum diversely and evaluate the curriculum,teachers and students by multiple characters in multiple ways.The fifth part is the summary.The author summarizes the achievements,shortages and improvement suggestions of this curriculum.Furthermore,the author reflects the limitation and puts forward the prospect for the future study in the end.
