The newly-issued National English Curriculum Standard points out that we should develop and utilize English curriculum resources with the purpose of improving English teaching and learning in primary and middle schools, whose major shortcomings have been regarded as "being fewer, slower, poorer and more costly." To achieve this, that is to say, to convert students' implicit curriculum resources into their excellent English performance is an emergent issue with which both curriculum specialists and schools should seriously deal. Therefore, Zhenyuan County Xincheng Junior High School began investigating this issue in 2002.Before 2002, English instruction of the school faced great difficulties due to the high rate of teachers' mobility. In view of this, with the support of English teaching specialists, the school actively cooperated with Pingliang Municipality No. 2 Middle School and set up a center for English curriculum resources in order to develop and utilize all kinds of Englishcurriculum resources available in the school. Then teachers of English in the school accepted my suggestions and introduced curriculum resources into classrooms. They adopted the task-based approach to revive English textbooks and taught English poems in their classrooms. As a result, teachers' professional skills, as well as students' performance have been greatly improved. However, many new problems arose. So, at the end of my article, I made a suggestion from the point views of school administration, development and utilization of curriculum resources and so on. Finally, I drew some implications from the experience of the school for other junior high schools with similar situations.
