| Chinese textbook serves as the most important tool for students to learn Chinese.Despite the numerous versions of textbooks and various choices for different areas,the applicability of textbooks should be taken into first consideration. China’s vast territory, unbalanced regional development and the gap between rural and urban areas make students very different under different environment. The rationality of textbooks will heavily influence students’ learning effect in rural areas because of the lack of learning resources and students’ weak Chinese foundation.The junior Chinese textbook published by Hebei University Press has served Chinese teaching in Hebei rural areas from 2005. Although it has been used for over 10 years and approved by many teachers and students, there are still some problems in its compilation and application. It can be improved to better meet the actual need in rural areas and show its own distinct features.Taking Hebei University Press junior Chinese textbook as the research object,this paper will give an overall introduction of the textbook from two aspects: writing idea and structure system. At the same time, an investigation will be done among teachers and students in rural schools by means of interview and questionnaire. Then it will compare the Hebei University Press Chinese textbook with PEP Chinese textbook and Jiangsu phoenix education publishing Chinese textbook from the aspect of sample system, knowledge system, reading-assisting system and operating system in order to find out the advantages and disadvantages of Hebei University Press Chinese textbook. After the study, we find out the Hebei University Press Chinese textbook has a clear structure system, innovative content and certain regional features.However, there still exist some disadvantages. Some selected articles are too difficult and the read data is lacked in Hebei University Press Chinese textbook. Therefore, the author will put some suggestions for the applicability of Chinese textbook from the aspect of its compilation and application in order to make a set of textbooks with distinct regional features as well as suitable for the learning situation in rural areas. |
