The new high school chemistry textbooks published by People's Education Press under the New Curriculum Standard emphasize the integration of students,discipline,and society,by taking and combining advantages of students,discipline and society-oriented structures while taking account of student's cognitive development,logical order of knowledge,and social needs.It perfectly manifests the principle of “the integration of three orders” and thus is a fundamental change from the past textbooks,which,in contrast,stress the integrity,systematic nature and logical order of knowledge to fulfill the social needs without considering students' physical and psychological conditions.In addition,the new textbook changes the traditional single-mode textbooks by providing compulsory and also elective textbooks.Textbooks are significantly updated,especially the compulsory books,not only by adding and cutting contents,but also by designing new columns.The most noticeable change is some new columns except main texts,figures and exercise questions.This paper statistically researches column teaching value and strategies of the compulsory high school chemistry textbook No.1 and No.2 published by People's Education Press under the New Curriculum Standard.First,This paper statistically analyzes column distribution,knowledge points,writing features and types of the compulsory high school chemistry textbook that reflects the main idea of the independent inquiry learning;The content of the column is rich,the chapters and columns arehighly integrated,which reflects the teaching concept of STS;The form of the column reflects interactivity and flexibility.These columns fundamentally changed the single-mode content of traditional textbooks and prioritize interactions between teachers and students as well as between students and textbooks.They can arouse students' learning interest and broaden their knowledge fields,and also can enhance training on student's study process,method and scientific inquiry so that students can learn basic techniques of scientific research,improve their scientific ability,develop motives to ask questions and cooperation mindset.Second,This paper analyzes the purpose and value of teaching of columns,such as Practice column via the students surfing the Internet,writing essay and role playing to make the students learn to get the information in a variety of ways,reflecting the teaching concept of STS.Students can use their knowledge to explain and solve the chemical phenomena and common problems,form the idea of social sustainable development.Finally,each column selects one of the typical content,and designs the specific teaching activities.According to the characteristics of each column and teaching practice,specific teaching strategies are put forward.
