Private higher education occupies an important position in China's higher education system.It enriches the types of higher education services and enlarges the resources of education in our country.However,private colleges have encountered some problems in the process of development,which restrict the development of colleges,among which the management of teachers is the core one in many problems.It is of great significance to the development of private colleges by improving the management of teachers,the teaching and scientific research level of teachers,and improving the running ability of private colleges.Motivation and restraint are the means of effective management of people.Use incentives to inspire people to work hard and achieve organizational goals;Use constraints to guide and regulate people's behavior in order to avoid deviating from organizational goals.A reasonable combination of two parts will create a good effect on management.The research object of this paper is a private college called Xi'an SY College.On the basis of modern incentive and restraint theory,this paper investigates and analyzes the present situation of teachers' motivation and restraint in Xi'an SY College by using questionnaire and data statistics.And then find out the existing problems,which include the lack of salary incentive,the inferior performance of appraisal system,the insufficient college culture construction,the slack self-restraint of teachers and so on,and point out the reasons for these problems.This paper establishes a targeted and effective teacher incentive and restraint model,and puts forward the concrete measures and countermeasures to perfect the college system,establish a competitive salary system,perfect the teacher performance appraisal system and strengthen the college culture construction.
