It is the rapid development of the information age in the 21 Century.Social media transfer large amounts of data every day and newspapers,magazines,textbooks present the data to the public in the form of a statistical chart,such as weather forecast,stock investment,wages etc.Statistics is the subject that how to collect,collate,describe and analyze data.It can provide the basis for making decisions and rationalization suggestions for people.The statistical chart is an important part of the statistics.Therefore,It is becoming more and more important for us to process and understand data in the statistical charts in life.At the elementary education,we can get the comprehension levels of the statistical graphs that students in primary school have achieved by learning the knowledge in primary school.In this study,the author mainly studied the following problems:(1)what is the levels of comprehension that the students achieved in the statistical graph?(2)when the students achieve one of the comprehension level of the statistical graph,What are the characteristics in the primary school?This research is mainly conducted through questionnaires and interviews.The results show that:(1)11.4% of the students at the sixth grade in the school have not reached the level of reading,and their behaviors in the comprehension levels of the statistical graphs were weak.(2)At the level of reading,16.1% of the students have reached and their behaviors were better than the students who did not reach the level of reading.(3)21.2% of the students have reached comparing level,and their ability to understand and process data is still insufficient.(4)51.3% of the students who have reached the interpretation level did not have the ability to infer and analyze the data deeply.The above results also show that there are some differences in the level of statistical graph comprehension.In the actual teaching,teachers need to arrange the teaching reasonably according to the weak points of the students,and shorten the differences between the three levels.
