Statistical graphs are a key part of the field of "Statistics and Probability".Statistical graphs are an important tool for data analysis.Primary school is a critical period for cultivating students' statistical concepts.Therefore,it is very important to understand the current situation of primary school students' learning of statistical graph problems for the teaching of statistical graphs.Based on this,this study mainly discusses three research questions:(1)What is the comprehension level of 6th grade students?(2)What is the level and characteristics of sixth graders' understanding of the three statistical charts in different dimensions?(3)What mistakes may sixth graders make in the study of statistical graphs? In accordance with the requirements of the "Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2011)" and combined with SOLO classification theory,a statistical graph comprehension evaluation tool is constructed from four dimensions: reading data,analyzing data,presenting data,and judging and predicting.Analytical errors,drawing errors and forecasting errors are used as analytical frameworks to study students' errors in statistical diagrammatic problems.The results show that:(1)Students have a better understanding of statistical graphs.(2)Bar charts perform best in extracting data;bar charts perform best in analyzing data,line charts perform better in presenting data,and line charts perform better in judgment and prediction the best.(3)There are four types of errors that occur when students answer: errors in image recognition,errors in drawing,errors in analysis,and errors in prediction.Based on the analysis of the research results,in view of the problems of students' understanding of statistical graphs,this study believes that teachers themselves should strengthen their correct understanding of statistics and statistics teaching.When teaching statistical charts,teachers should create a situation based on the actual situation,Therefore,teachers should strengthen their own correct understanding of statistics and statistics teaching.In the teaching of statistical charts,situations should be created based on the actual situation,so that students can feel the application value of statistical knowledge;teachers should guide students to pay attention to the hidden information in statistical charts,and cultivate students' standardized statistical chart drawing habits.At the same time,teachers should also grasp and use the mistakes made by students in their learning to carry out targeted teaching.
