The novel is one of the literary genres,which own the largest group of readers.In Shanghai teaching edition textbooks of junior middle school Chinese,almost there are more or less novel articles in every semester.Among the eight textbooks of junior middle school from grade six to grade nine,there are 39 articles involved in the novel,of which 5 complete units are presented together as the unit of the novel.The number of novel works accounts for about 1/6 of the total number of articles,which show a wider space of research and the value of certain teaching and research.On the basis of the combination of research methods,such as literature research,questionnaire research,comparative study,and the study of classroom teaching cases,this paper advocates and calls for the Chinese teachers to jump out of the thought of "teaching for testing" in reading teaching.In this way,we should pay more attention to the improvement of the students' long-term Chinese literacy,combine the practice of classroom teaching with the research teaching,study side by side,attach importance to the aesthetic characteristics of literary texts,and teach literary works as literature.The full text is mainly divided into four chapters.The first three chapters are the preface,the requirements of the novel selecting and teaching in Shanghai teaching edition textbooks of junior middle school Chinese,the investigation and analysis of the current situation of the reading teaching in junior high school.The fourth chapter of this article focuses on the teaching strategies of the novel reading in the course of teaching,that is,the strategy of determining the content of pre class teaching,the strategy of teaching methods in the course,and the strategy of the continuation of teaching guidance after class.At the same time,in the course of teaching practice,it is found that effective classroom teaching strategies have positive significance to the maintenance and development of students' reading interest in novels,guiding students to read from shallow level to deep reading,and developing students' reading thinking.
