The theme of "International Day for Disaster Reduction" is closely related to education,people realize the importance of infiltrating disaster prevention and reduction knowledge in education,schools should become the main position for disaster education?After China's May 12 Wenchuan Earthquake,China made it clear that the disaster should be included in the education system in primary and secondary schools,to enhance students' disaster prevention.And the occurrence of disasters is closely related to geographical things or phenomena.Therefore,disaster education in primary and secondary schools should fully combine the characteristics of geography and give full play to the unique advantages of geography disciplines in disaster education.This paper aims at understanding the implementation of disaster education which is taught in Lhasa's high school geography,finding the existing problems,putting forward the corresponding strategy,and expecting to promote the implementation of disaster education in Lhasa high school geography teaching.This paper analyzed the study of disaster education by using the method of literature,combed the knowledge of disaster involved in high school geography textbooks.With the method of questionnaire survey and classroom observation,researches have been done in teaching situation about the implementation of high school geography in Lhasa.The study found the following problems:(1)the disastrous education result of high school students in Lhasa is not ideal,which is generally low in disaster prevention literacy;(2)differences of disaster knowledge among students exist in gender,nationality(Tibetan and han)and grade;(3)the implementation status of education in school disaster is not ideal.The reasons for these problems are analyzed in this paper;(4)some geography teachers are not in high cognitive of disaster and lack of prevention skills.Based on the real condition in Lhasa,several strategies are put forward from five aspects: local and school-based curriculum and classroom teaching,education practice,teacher training,evaluation mechanism.Teaching practice of disaster education was carried out by taking typhoon as an example.And the trial of designing field geological disaster study along the route from parking lot NO.15 bus,Duodi Town,Chengguan District,Lhasa City to Linzong Village has been done.It is expected that the implementation of education and relevant practical knowledge can be further strengthened in the geography teaching of general high school in Lhasa.
