The Enlightenment of the 18 th century and the scientific development of the 19 th century led to the scientization of pedagogy and the “specialization” of teacher training.Teacher professionalization directly affects education level and development.Therefore,the attention of governments and researchers in various countries has become a new trend in the international and domestic teaching staff and construction,and it has also become a trend in the development of teacher education.In 2011,China's education department issued the “Professional Standards for Secondary School Teachers(Trial)”,which proposed 64 basic requirements for teachers from the three dimensions of professional knowledge,professional competence,and professional thinking.The promulgation of this standard has opened the prelude to the development of professional teachers in China.Teachers are the main force in carrying out education and teaching activities and play an important role that other groups cannot substitute in the historical process of education development.The professional development of teachers not only manifests in the growth of individuals,but also enhances the overall quality of education in teachers' groups,strengthens the construction of the teaching staff,and also promotes the reform and development of teacher education.At the same time,teacher professional development is closely related to the development of students.The two are mutually reinforcing and promote each other,creating a better education model and providing a more comfortable educational environment.Lhasa is the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region.It is the region with the highest education level in the region.However,compared with the eastern part of the country,it is located in the western part of the country and is mainly ethnic minority areas where there are Tibetans.There are some gaps between the educational resources and education levels and the eastern region.In particular,there are still many differences in the level of teacher professionalism.At the same time,the level of professionalism of middle school teachers in Lhasa also affects the quality of education throughout the education system,which shows the importance of the professional development of geography teachers,and it is necessary to enhance the professionalization level of teachers.Taking Lhasa Senior High School as an example,we have an important theoretical and practical significance for gaining insight into the image of teachers,grasping the realistic level of the teaching team,and exploring the strategies for professional development of geography teachers.Therefore,the author regards teacher professionalization as the background of the main features of teacher education reform since the 21 st century.Based on the “High School Curriculum Standards(practice)”,the author reads a large number of documents and summarizes the development process and current situation of domestic and foreign teacher professionalization.In summary,relevant concepts were identified,such as occupation,professionalism,specialization,teacher specialization,and geography teacher specialization.Using methods such as reading and analyzing collected literature,questionnaire surveys,and interviews,this paper analyzes the status quo of the professionalization of geography teachers in high school in Lhasa,and grasps the problems existing in the professional development of high school geography teachers in Lhasa City,such as teachers' professional knowledge is weak and geography.The teachers' research ability is not good,and teacher training is not perfect.To address the issue,we should appropriately increase the time for learning,expand the scope of knowledge study,and formulate teacher training content in a targeted way.Teachers should establish their own research consciousness,and education departments and schools should guide teachers in teaching research and create conditions.These studies have some reference significance for the professional development of high school geography teachers in Lhasa City.
