Since the beginning of the 21 st century, the rapid growth of the emerging economies, coupled with increasingly fierce international competition, make China's manufacturing industry, the low-cost advantage industry, to be weaken. The excess production capacity, resource exhaustion, environmental problem and other issues is under enormous pressure. The industrial structure suffered from large proportion of labor-intensive manufacturing, and many of them is still engaged in the overseas manufacturing and processing, assembling and other low-end links at the bottom of the global value chain. At the same time, due to the independent research and development, regional co-development, limited synergies and the low level of upgrading industrial clusters in technology-intensive manufacturing industry, cost insufficient of higher power class manufacturing value chain. As a result, those manufacturing industry is difficult to undertake more complex, higher level of international division of work.China is a populous country, which brings very rich labor resources. Within decades, the achievement of free market policy is remarkable. The scale of China`s manufacturing industry already has been the largest in the world. Every country in the world can buy Chinese-made products. China has quite become "world's workshop." However, compared with developed countries, China's manufacturing industry still has some drawbacks. First, technological innovation capability is weak. Second, global market share is low and China doesn`t have high-tech industrial. Therefore, China is not a manufacturing powered country at last. Only to upgrade the continues` manufacturing sector before it can make the distance between the country's manufacturing sector and developed gradually shortened. This essay reviews the theoretical and empirical researches related to global value chains and manufacturing upgrades, features and analysis of various factors in China's manufacturing industry under the background of the global value chain, affecting path. Factors affecting the manufacturing sector through regression analysis significant factor affecting manufacturing upgrade, propose different ways to upgrade the region needed to China's actual situation and put forward suggestions. This paper is divided into five parts:The first part. Introduction. An overview of the Review of Global Value Chain manufacturing upgrades; The second part. Current Situation of China's manufacturing development of the global value chain. In this first part set forth by way of statistical description of the characteristics of the global value chain in manufacturing, followed by calculating the index and the status of GVC participation index, to our country the strength of the manufacturing sector in the international division of labor is evaluated; The third part. Factors affecting the upgrade path of manufacturing of the global value chain. From both technical innovation and policy innovation for a total of five factors affecting China's manufacturing industry to upgrade mechanism; The fourth part. Factors empirical analysis of China's manufacturing industry to upgrade of global value chain. Through the establishment of China's manufacturing industry factors quantitative analysis model, based on panel data of 31 provinces, factors affecting China's manufacturing industry to upgrade empirical analysis; The fifth part. Conclusion and Suggestions. For Part IV empirical conclusions, to upgrade our global manufacturing value chain put forward reasonable suggestions, and the lack of research summarized in this paper and future prospects.
