The report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the manufacturing development strategic plan of “Accerlerating the pace of constructing a country with strong manufacturing capabilities, accelerating the development of advanced manufacturing, promoting China's industry to move towards the mid-to-high end of the global value chain and fostering several world-class advanced manufacturing clusters”.For a long time,China has exerted its own advantages to participate in the division of labor in the global value chain. The manufacturing industry has made great progress, the national economy has achieved vigorous development, and the overall national strength has been greatly improved. However, since the global financial crisis in 2008,China's manufacturing industry has experienced some setbacks. The trend of anti-globalization is constantly increasing.Developed countries have adopted manufacturing repatriation policies and trade protectionism.Civilian anti-globalization movements have occurred from time to time. The United States has cracked down on key development industries planned for "Made in China 2025" and the emerging of developing countries have greatly hindered the further development of China's manufacturing industry. On the other hand, with the continuous development of China's manufacturing industry, the main crux it faced has gradually changed from the quantitative contradiction to the qualitative contradiction. Therefore, this articles has great theoretical significance and practical value.Because it studies the influencing factors of the upgrading of the Chinese manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain.Firstly, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of manufacturing industry upgrading from the perspective of global value chain from a theoretical perspective.Secondly, based on theoretical analysis and in combination with practice, this paper analyzes the current situation of China's manufacturing industry from three aspects:the participation form of international division of labor of China's manufacturing industry, the revealed comparative advantage of China's manufacturing industry and the position of global value chain division of China's manufacturing industry.Thirdly, based on the previous analysis, the empirical analysis of the factors affecting the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain, including benchmark regression analysis, expansion analysis and robustness testing, was performed. Finally, based on the analysis of the full text, thisarticle draws conclusions and puts forward suggestions based on which to promote the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of global value chains. The main conclusions are shown below.Firstly, the improvement of the global value chain division of labor status and the expansion of international market demand will promote the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain. The global value chain division of labor's positive impact on the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain will be affected by human capital, international market demand, policy factors and the scale of enterprise production.Secondly,in low-contract-intensive industries, the improved global value chain division of labor and the expansion of international market demand will promote the upgrading of the Chinese manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain. The global value chain division of labor will affect China's manufacturing from the perspective of the global value chain and the positive impact of industry upgrading will be affected by human capital, international market demand, policy factors and the scale of production of enterprises. In high contract-intensive industries, the increase of human capital will promote the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of global value chains. Finally,in the low-tech industries, the positive impact of the global value chain division of labor status on the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain will be affected by human capital, international market demand and policy factors. In the middle-tech industry, the increase of human capital will promote the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of global value chains. In the high-tech industry, the improvement of the global value chain's division of labor status will promote the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain, and the positive impact of the global value chain's division of labor status on the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry from the perspective of the global value chain will be affected by the international market demand and policy factors.
