Internationalization is one of the core issues in international business. Alibaba Group, as the domestic E-commerce giant, grew up from a small private enterprise, to an E-commerce giant. In September 2014, Alibaba was successfully listed in the US, the reason why Alibaba entered the international market smoothly is due to its constant innovation and reform in the process of internationalization. China's E-commerce enterprises could learn from the experience of Alibaba in Internationalization process, especially its innovation. On the basis of the theory of innovation and internationalization, this study starts with the enterprise innovation and further explores how innovation promotes the internationalization of Alibaba Group.This study starts with the event of Alibaba's list in the US, then it analyzes the international environment of Alibaba from two aspects-- inside and outside. After that, the analysis of internationalization process of Alibaba is divided into four stages:The first stage is the preparation process in the domestic market; the second one is innovation of its business model and accumulation of its internationalization experience; third one is overseas merger and acquisitions, intending to improve brand recognition abroad. The fourth stage is creating a global business ecosystem. Through the analysis of Alibaba's international process, the study points out that Alibaba keeps innovation in its internationalization. After that, this study emphasizes on exploration of the innovation in the internationalization process of Alibaba from four points of innovation, including enterprise cultural innovation, product and technical innovation, ownership system innovation, and international strategic innovation. The final part focuses on the significance of Alibaba on other China's E-commerce enterprises in their process of internationalization.
