| The central region is the assembly point of the traditional agricultural provinces. The population of which accounts for 26.5% of the national total population, the dual economic characteristics is notable. Rural population of which accounts for about 1/3 of the national total rural population. With the development of the social-economy and the advances in agricultural technology, the problem of the rural surplus labor is becoming more serious recently. With the situation of the urban-rural split employment broken, the process of urbanization promoting is accelerated in central region.It has been a reality normal that a large number of rural surplus labor began to transfer to the town and get employed. Nearly 40 years of reform and opening. Chinese economy achieved remarkable achievement. To some extent,which enhances the China’s economic and social well-being. The relationship between foreign trade and employment has become a focus of research for scholars. According to present document, we can find that the effect of foreign trade on employment is very significant. In recent years, in order to enhance the openness of China inland areas, Chairman Xi put forward the strategy of One Belt and One Road, which brought central region unprecedented opportunities on the development of foreign trade. Therefore, how to develop foreign trade and raise employment in central region is the issue which is worthy of attention and researched.Firstly, the existing relevant literatures on the relationship between foreign trade and employment are reviewed, then descriptive analysis of the present situation of foreign trade, urbanization and employment; Later, according to the classical theory, the paper analyze the employment effects of foreign trade; The empirical analysis of this paper is mainly focused on two paths: the employment effect of trade structure and the employment effect of trade direction. In the empirical analysis of trade direction, urbanization indicator has been introduced into the employment effects of foreign trade. Lastly, based on the results of the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the foregoing, recommendations on solving the employment problem of central region are made.Results of this study show as follows:(1) Due to the low level of foreign trade development of the central region, the employment effects of international trade is unlike the previous researches results that is so remarkable. The central Region should seize "One Belt and One Road" development opportunities, in order to enhance the level of opening.(2) International trade of industrial manufactured goods is more effective to increase employment, and we should try our best to achieve the rapid growth of manufactured goods international trade.(3)The role of imports in stimulating employment should be paid enough attention, and we need to change the old idea that exports over imports in international trade.(4)In the study of the employment effects of international trade, urbanization factors should be taken into account. |
