| This paper introduces the theory of "social exclusion" and uses in-depth interview method to study the problem of employment dilemma for the elderly migrant workers.Through the research,the author found that the elderly migrant workers are faced with multiple difficulties in employment: they need work,but they are often rejected by employers because of their age;it’s hard for them to find a job,but the return income is very low;they want to find a job but they lack the pathway,always relay on acquaintances;they have been older but they had to engage in high labor intensity;they live alone away from home and lack the spiritual life,and so on.There are many reasons for these dilemmas,the lack of the government policy,the age discrimination of social employment,the pursuit of maximum profits of the labor uni,the oversupply of the labor market and the weak employment ability of themselves,etc.In city,the elderly are weaker in the migrant workers,there also exists the Dual Labor Market Segmentation within the group of migrant workers,the dilemma is a new normal and has a transmission.The employment dilemma of the elderly migrant workers may have a great negative impact on their families,social justice and intergenerational equity,human resource utilization,urbanization process,social stability and so on.Based on the study,this paper puts forward some policy suggestions.To solve the employment dilemma of the elderly migrant workers needs the government,enterprise,society,the media,and social service agency form a cohesive force and carry out multiple measures.Ultimately,we will realize the full employment and guaranteed employment of the elderly migrant workers. |
