The high rate of migration population is an important character of Chinese demography nowadays.Economic integration of migrants into the destined region plays a crucial role for migrants on their integration into local lives,as economic integration is the first step to integrate into a new region.Previous studies are more single-sided that their data often rely on either a single destination group in multiple origins or a single origin in multiple destinations. This article suggests that the economic integration of migrants may be affected by origins, destinations, and communities. This study used national population monitoring data in 2010 to broaden the range of integration comparison.Cluster analysis is used to classify the 31 provinces. The analysis shows that migrants whose destination is Liaoning or Hebei province,or those whose place of origin is in east coastal area have better economic integration than their counterparts. In this paper, origin and destination affect economic integration at the same level, and the third macro level community has been added.Sample multilevel model is not working in this complex structure.By using the cross-classified multilevel model,we have identified factors on both micro and macro level that influence the economic integration. The result shows that regional differences are associated with the employment rate in secondary industries, housing price and government investment in destination, the level of education in origin, economic differences and geographical distance. In addition, human capital, flow status and demographic characteristics of migrants also have influence on their economic integration.
