As is known to all, manufacturing is the important pillar of a country's economic development. With China's rapid economic development and industrial manufacturing level, "made in China" has become an international label. After decades of rapid development, we has changed from a backward agricultural country to a country now has complete system of industrial powers. China's industrial powers have made remarkable achievements, and at the same time also faces many new challenges. Facing with the reshuffle trendcy of global manufacturing, those world's largest economies, especially Europe and the United States has rushed to advance manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, the previous extensive mode of production of China has many disadvantages, such as high cost, high inventory, low efficiency, low market agility and so on. Even though, China is called "world's factory", China's industrial manufacturing is big but not strong, and overall it is still in the low-end of global value chain. Under such fierce competition environment, China also needs to follow the trend to speed up the upgrade of the manufacturing industry. In this process, the production management inevitably need to reform, so as to adapt to the needs of inside and outside the pressure of the competition in the market.Lean production, a production management concept originated from Toyota, has made deep influence in many companies. How to use it to solve the difficulties of our manufacturing enterprise is the intent of this article.This article takes the N company's lean production project as the object of study. As a traditional manufacturing enterprises with the background of state owned, N company starts the promotion of lean production since 2010. Based on the experience of previous failure in promotion, N company selects the production line of A products to do lean production reformation. It takes lean concept as guidance, make fully use of lean tools, sets up a professional team to solve problems exist in former production mode. Based on the analysis of real production, the project team design lean production plan, aim to realize the flow manufacture, JIT logistics, scene improvement, and optimize production processes. Through nearly one year's project implementation, the lean production project has gotten these achievements, such as the shorten of production period, the improvement of production efficiency, the reduction of production cost, the optimization of production resource allocation.The production line achieves a lean improvement.The N company's practices of lean production make meaningful explore for its production management reformation. It combines the elements of production operation and process of production closely, based on the local conditions. It promotes the N company's transformation from extensive production management mode in the past to lean production model.This article analyzes the thought and process of N company's lean production in detail, to sum up its successes and deficiencies, and put forward the future vision for its lean production.
