Research On The Impact Of Employment Stability On Migrant Workers' Wage

Under the dual role and guidance of industrialization and urbanization process,the most prominent social phenomenon of China in recent years is the continuous transfer of rural labor force,a large number of migrant workers into the city,has played a crucial role in the development of China's labor-intensive service industry and the emergence of the advantages of the demographic dividend.However,due to the low level of migrant workers' education,lack of labor skills,coupled with the traditional household discrimination and the existence of China's labor market segmentation,migrant workers often face the risk of unemployment,employment stability is poor.The decline of migrant workers' employment stability will bring a series of economic and social problems.On the one hand,the stability of employment and wage are dependent,there is a big difference between the average wages of migrant workers with stable employment and non employment stability;on the other hand,poor employment stability also caused migrant workers low urbanization willingness,low capacity,Lack of power,the degree of real urbanization is low,affecting the final completion of the process of urbanization and the fundamental realization of people-centered new urbanization construction.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the employment stability and its impact on migrant workers' wage,which for them to "work in peace",to promote them "live in the city",is very essential to protect the people-centered new urbanization construction.This paper is divided into seven chapters,the core part is the third chapter to the sixth chapter,the main research contents include:(1)Constructing the theoretical framework of employment stability,capital accumulation and wages of migrant workers wage,through the review of relevant literature.(2)Analysis the mechanism of employment stability and migrant workers wage.Based on the CHIPS survey data.first of all,using the simultaneous equation model to analysis the relationship between the employment stability and capital accumulation;secondly,after using Heckman two step to correct the selection bias of employment stability,analyze the wage effect of capital accumulation;thirdly,constructing the OLS regression model joining the interaction of human capital and social capital and employment stability in the model,Analysis on the mechanism and effect of the interaction between human capital and social capital and employment stability on migrant workers' wage,clarify the mechanism of employment stability,capital accumulation and wage income of migrant workers.(3)Analysis on the mechanism difference of Employment Stability on Migrant Workers' Wage.First of all,using the Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition method to decompose the wage differential between the stable employment and the unstable employment migrant workers in the mean sense;selection bias and then using the Heckman two-step method to correct the selection bias of employment stability,and unconditional quantile decomposition method to distribute decomposition the wage gap.The study found that:(1)The employment stability of migrant workers has been improved,the relative income and distribution characteristics of migrant workers have changed greatly from 2002 to 2008.(2)There is interaction between employment stability and capital accumulation,employment stability is conducive to the accumulation of human capital and social capital;at the same time,the accumulation of human capital is conducive to improving the employment stability of migrant workers,and the accumulation of social capital on the influence of employment stability of migrant workers is different in each year,human capital accumulation and social capital accumulation are conducive to improving the wage income of migrant workers.The direct effects of employment stability on migrant workers' wage in 2002,2007 and 2008 were 17.25%,4.5%and 12.55%,respectively,which were similar to those of previous studies and passed the robustness test.(3)There were significant differences of stable employment and unstable employment of migrant workers wage,the wage gap decreased from 2002 to 2007,increased from 2007 to 2008,and the proportion of coefficient difference gradually decreased,and the proportion of characteristic difference gradually Increase.In terms of different quantiles,the total difference in the low-scoring cohort in 2002 is less than the median,but greater than the high-order cohort;2007 and 2008 years showed obvious "floor effect",among them,the difference of characteristics is the main reason of wage difference between the stable employment and unstable employment migrant workers;the cause of the wage gap is different in different wage cohort,the effect of human capital is gradually increased with quantile increase,and the labor market segmentation effect is the opposite.Finally,according to the above conclusions,from the three levels of government,enterprises and migrant workers put forward specific policy recommendations.
