Research On The Go Global Strategy Of China's Nuclear Power Industry In The Context Of ‘One Belt And One Road'

China's National Energy Administration mentioned in ‘the implementation plan to serve scientific development and coordination mechanism of nuclear power companies' published in 2013 that improve core competitiveness of nuclear energy industry;strengthenorganizationalleadership of nuclear export;encourage enterprises to participate in international competition in multiple ways as project construction,equipment manufacturing,technical support and state bank loans according to the principle of ‘unified thoughts,concentrated goals,integrated resources and combined forces' in order to improve the overall package and international competitiveness of China's nuclear power industry.It is a sign that‘go global strategy' has been upgraded to a national strategy.The Party and state leaders are now fully aware of the significance and importance of ‘go global strategy' of China's nuclear power industry,and Premier Li Keqiangpersonally promoted nuclear power technology and equipment on many occasions in the international arena.All parties in China respond the national summons positively to push forward external cooperation,and China's nuclear power industry ushers in the golden age of ‘going global'.Along with the continuous development of the world economy,demand for global power resources grows.More and more countries along ‘the Belt and Road Initiative' plan to develop nuclear power,which provides a good chance for the China's nuclear power industry to go global.However,as a late starter to develop nuclear power technology,China lacks abundant foreign cooperation,and still faces a comparative disadvantage in international competition.In the context of ‘the Belt and Road Initiative',what kind of strategic international collaboration can be applied becomes an urgent problem to be solved.The paper firstanalyzes and the current development of China's nuclear power industry,and introduces the process of nuclear power industry's development and technology pathway,so as to summarize present situation.Then it conducts SWOT model analysis on the basis of internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats of nuclear power industry in China.Afterwards,it concludes strategic components,which includesstrategy object,strategy target and implementations regarding nuclear power cooperation with major countries along the Belt and Road;it plans external cooperation pathsincluding international trade and international investment,and discusses pros and cons of both.Finally,this paper presents specific countermeasures and suggestions on how to promote nuclear power cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road.
