External support power of port refers to the power outside the port,such as the economic conditions of hinterland,advantages of policy,transportation conditions,these external conditions have big development space,if it can be used as a new direction for the development of port,control these external factors correctly.The bottleneck of port s development will be broken.This article make Nantong port as an example,study its external support of port development.Taking Nantong port as research samples,select the other competition ports in the Yangtze River Delta,Use the method of analytic hierarchy process analysis the information of ports,get the scores and the rank of ports,analysis the results,according to the analysis results:the score of social development and and the potential development of Nantong is higher,ranks are 7 and 6.the score of the abality of nantong is low,rank is 9.Analysis the result,we can know that lack of policy advantage of Nantong port lead the development of Nantong port's social conditions limited.and Nantong's railway transportation make its development and potential development be limited.Nantong's potential development is also affected by the industrial structure of export.To consolidate and improve the level of social condition,we should improve the support of policy.To strengthen the potential development and the development abality of Nantong,the transportation system should be estblished quickly,the industrial should be optimized,like improve the quality of export products,improve the new high—tech products's export proportion.strengthen the band's strength,enhance the innovation of the enterprise;Improve the attraction of goods:like expand the way to supply goods,carry out the differential pricing.
