Research On The Selection Of Leading Industries In Jiangsu Province Based On DVS & FAM

Leading industries play an important role in the process of regional economic development.It relates to the enhancement of regional comprehensive economic strength and the quality of economic growth,but also conducive to the optimization of regional industrial structure.That is why countries and regions pay more attention to the development of local leading industry.Jiangsu,as a developed province of China,walks in the forefront of reform,which not only plays an exemplary role in the economic development of China's central and western regions,but also affects the shaping national macroeconomic policies.In this paper,the research firstly reviews the relevant theoretical research achievements at home and abroad.Building the FAM index system to get the in the score of comprehensive evaluation and combining the score and DVS to get the leading industries of Jiangsu and some advice of developping these industries,starting from the situation of Jiangsu province.This article mainly uses the qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis method to carry on the analysis under the guidance of the leading industry choice theory,combing the Jiangsu province actual situation.The third chapter analyzes the economic environment faced by Jiangsu Province,including the international economic environment,the domestic economic environment and the provincial economic environment.It is developing into the first economy-province.Although the proportion of the third industry in Jiangsu Province exceeds that of the second industry,the second industry plays the biggest role in driving the growth of GDP;seen from foreign trade,domestic added value of export products of Jiangsu are quite low;from the aspect of regional development,the gap between regional economic development levels in Jiangsu inclines to enlarge;in the fourth chapter,first of all,after sorting out collected data,the relationship between DVS and FAM is analyzed,and it is found that DVS will facilitate the research conclusions to be more scientific and reasonable.Secondly,DVS and FAM empirical analyses are carried out in each industry department of Jiangsu,whose main conclusion is that DVS value of the second industry,especially equipment manufacturing industry,in Jiangsu Province is quite low,but that of the third industry is quite high.In the meantime,FAM is utilized to calculate the comprehensive scores and rankings of industry departments of JiangsuProvince;lastly,based on actual situation in Jiangsu,eight major industry departments in Jiangsu are summarized: chemical industry,manufacturing industry of communication equipment computer & other electronic devices,electrical machinery& equipment manufacturing industry,general & special equipment manufacturing industry,wholesale & retail industry,financial industry,information transmission software & information technological service industry and scientific research &technological service industry.Then above industry departments are analyzed in detail;in the fifth chapter,countermeasures to promote the development of major industries in Jiangsu are put forward,including playing the guiding role of governmental sectors,improving competitiveness of industry clusters of major industries,promoting the in-depth integration of major industries,production and research as well as utilize regional collaboration and productive service industry to promote the development of major industries.
