Analysis Of Factors Affecting Energy Consumption In Ma’anshan City

With the continuous development of society,people pay more attention to energy issues.Especially in China,where the economic is developed in a rough way,the problems on energy crisis and environmental pollution are becoming increasingly acute.Thus,the study on analyzing the factors that affecting the energy consumption is critical.Firstly,this paper systemically analyzes the factors influencing energy consumption for Maanshan city and key energy consumption enterprises Magang using LMDI analytical method.The results show that for the whole city,the amount of energy consumption in MaAnshan is growing rapidly during the "Twelfth five-year" period,and the energy consumption intensity effect is the most important factor on increasing the energy consumption of MaAnshan,which can reach up to 123.82%.While the industrial structure effect is not obvious compared to energy consumption intensity,and is only 1.92%.On the other hand,the scale effect has blocked the energy consumption of 25.74%.Interestingly,for the Magang(Group)Holding Co.,Ltd.,as the biggest energy consumption in MaAnshan,the effects of the mentioned-above three factors on the energy consumption are different.As to the scale effect,which has a greatly positive on the increasing of energy consumption(about 435.51%),and the industrial structure effect on increasing the energy consumption is not of prime importance(around 33.3%).However,the energy consumption intensity effect is the most factor that inhabits the increasing of energy consumption and can achieve up to-368.81%.The second part of this paper presents the relation of the industrial structure and the energy consumption in MaAnshan using Grey Relational Analysis,GRA.The results indicate that in MaAnshan black metal smelting and rolling processing industry are the two sectors possessing high input with low output,high energy consumption and low added value.So the share of the two sectors should be reduced in the adjustment of the industrial structure.On the contrary,the sectors characterized by obviously low input and high output like food manufacturing industry should be the key industry for the further development of MaAnshan.At last,on basis of the obtained result,this paper proposes several suggestions on the control of energy consumption for Maanshan city and key energy consumption enterprises,which provides theoretical supports for the policy-making departments.
