Research On Public Participation In Urban Governance

Public participation is one of the important topics of exploring in modern democratic politics and is one condition of promoting political structure reform and realizing national democracy.For our country,ensuring public participation is a basic approach to safeguard people's rights of self-determination.Urban governance involves wide field and coverage of public.Attaching great importance to the public participation in the breadth,depth and validity is meaningful for public management of urban governance in urban governance model of innovation.Urban governance has been incorporated into the social management innovation system in China.Foreign public participation in urban governance has become the inevitable trend of urban social progress and development.At present,many cities has carried out the practice of public participation in urban governance with rich exploring ideas.Many problems has arisen,such as the imperfect system,narrow of participation channel,weak of subjective participation,deficiency of actual participation and the interests contradiction with the government and the public.As a result,it is important to explore and complete the public participation in urban governance model through the method of safeguarding the authority of participation,broadening the public participation in breadth,extending dimension of public participation by social organization,increasing the consciousness to participate in the validity and ensuring precise role of localization government governance.This paper uses literature research,case study,comparative research,induction and other research methods for study and selects the case of public participation in Nanjing qinhuai district shantytown transformation.The author uses foreign public participation theory and the present situation of different cities for reference to analysis and clarifies the public participation in qinhuai district shantytown redevelopment comprehensively.We can through this case can to lead to problems of public participation in urban governance,thus can put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
