Wuwei,the largest district in Shiyang River Basin,boasts the city along the Silk Road with the largest population.Since supplied by the inland river and located in the arid areas of northwest China,Wuwei,in Hexi inland river basins of Gansu province,is the city encounter with following issues-outstanding contradiction between human beings and land,water in distress,fragile ecological environment,as well as backward economy.With little precipitation,great evaporation,uneven distribution in rainfall,and other characteristics,its water carrying capacity is now unable to match the pace of social progress,causing great damage to the natural environment,coupled with increasingly influence on the residents' daily life.The Shiyang River basin of Wuwei district has become the typical region showing inharmonious relation between mankind and nature.The shortage of water resource has become the bottleneck of restricting the economic and social development.Therefore,none of various contradictions waited to be solved in time are not the obstacles to the future economic and social advance.Thus,the development of modern agriculture in Wuwei not only affects the living and social environment in the basin,but also is closely related to the northwest,even north China's environmental quality,which is also an important part of national ecological security.The study,taking in Wuwei district of Shiyang River Basin as an example,uses the established background that the establishment and development in both agriculture modernization and eco-friendly project,as well as the shortage of water resource and resource efficient utilization.Based on the analysis of Wuwei ecology evolution and agricultural modernization,the paper systematically analyzed the sustainable way of the utilization of water resources in Wuwei,and explored the strategic significance to optimize modes of agricultural modernization and protect economic and social development.At this,the paper will put forward to the following modes in agriculture modernization: to optimization of the main production(industrialized agriculture and unique forestry and fruits);to enhance deep processing(advancing industrial chain in production and marketing);an to extend the innovative ideas to establish efficient and water-saving modes in agriculture.The paper also suggests some innovative perceptions like the system engineering of ecological conservation,water-saving modes etc..On the basis of the sustainable development,the paper discusses the aspects: that the establishment of efficient modes and good system engineering of agricultural ecological protection under the poor water resources;and that the development mode of agriculture modernization laying equal emphasis on economic benefit and ecological function.Aim to provide theoretical basis and technical support for the promotion of water-saving ecological industry,the study also present the discussion on the way to save water and at the same time increase interests,the adjustment on agricultural structure,and optimization in area distribution,and then it proposes the water-saving integration on project,technologies,and managements.It focus on the agricultural Eco-environment protection,the integration between optimization in agriculture modernization,so as to accelerate the idea to establish the state-level water-saving demonstration plot.
