Income Effect In Provision Of Rural Public Goods In Guangdong

Guangdong has been one of the major economic areas in China for a long time.Agriculture plays a significant role in its economy.Improving rural public goods provision is the effective method to solve rural issues and increase farmers' income.However,economy in rural Guangdong still underdeveloped due to shortage and low efficiency of public goods,low quality of rural public goods,and inequality provision between different areas.Therefore,it is urgent to research the relationship between rural public goods and income of farmers and increase effective rural public goods supply and farmers' income.First,this paper is based on combing relevant theories and literatures to describe the current variety of issues in rural Guangdong,such as irrigation and water conservancy infrastructure,agricultural technology popularization,information platform construction,rural education,rural health care and rural social security system.Second,through studying on the effect of public goods provision in economic field,this paper analyzes the influence mechanism between rural productive public goods and the unproductive public goods on the income of the farmers,and uses empirical analysis to test the relationship between different types of public goods provision in rural Guangdong and income of farmers by unit root test?co-integration analysis and Granger causality.The empirical results show that enhancing public goods provision in rural Guangdong can increase the income of farmers,which has consistency with our economic theories analysis.The productive public goods can boost the farmer's income and the income elasticity is 0.05;the non-productive public goods also can enhance farmer's income and the income elasticity is 0.24.Besides,the case analysis is used to compare the provision of rural public goods and the income of farmers in three different villages of Heyuan City.In addition,through above analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The productive public goods provision and unproductive public goods provision in rural Guangdong can both promote the growth of farmers' income.Unproductive rural public goods have a stronger effect.(2)The one-time investment of rural productive public goods cannot effectively change the production situation,which needs to be sustained for a long-term.(3)Effective supply system and farmers' visibility into the benefits of public goods can increase the enthusiasm of farmers to invest in public goods.(4)Multi-subject supplying rural public goods have higher efficiency.Finally,combining with the full text analysis,this study puts forward countermeasures and suggestions,including:(1)Increasing rural non-productive public goods financial investment.(2)Strengthening rural productive public goods sustainable investment capacity.(3)Improving farmers 'Citizens' consciousness and public consciousness.(4)Standardizing rural public goods' maintenance system and supervision mechanism.
