Analysis And Evaluation Of Competitiveness Of Ukrainian Exports Of Corn And Influencing Factors

Ukraine is one of the most major player responsible for corn production in the Black Sea region.Ukraine has vast stretches of fertile land richl y endowed with chernozem(or black soil),and its chernozem is some of the most fertile soil in the world.The despite,being a small country a wide variet y of crops gro w here in abundance.Maize is the third most important grown crop in Ukrain e after barley followed b y wheat.Ukraine is the world`s third largest exporter after the Unites States and Brazil.Ukraine has increased its corn production over the past five years,becoming one of the top corn ex porting countries.Ukraine exported 65 % of its total corn production and 16% of the world's corn exp ort totals are contributed b y the Ukraine.The crop areas achieved 30 million tons.In view of the reduced demand at the domestic market it allowed a significant export of maize.This situation is substantiated b y high competitive abilit y of this crop in comparison with other kinds of cereals.The relativel y high yield crops,the efficiency of production and introduction of innovati ve technologies have led to a significant increase in volumes of production in agricultural enterprises.The paper anal yses the main factors that affect corn international competitiveness,ex plores index s ystem that affects corn international competitivene ss,and conducts empirical anal ysis on Ukraine' s present corn competitiveness,aiming to discover Ukraine`s advantages and disadvantage s in corn international competitiveness.All these result we have achieved via Revealed Comparative Advantage index(RCA),Trade share index(TC)and International Market share index(MS)Also throught Michael Porter`s "Diamond Theory" explores the conditions needed for a country's enterprise to gain a favorable position in the market competition,anal yzes the strong advantages of some commodit y industry in a country.These main factors ex erting an influence on ex port of Ukrainian corn market.According to UN Commodit y Statistics Database,The Ministry of Ukrainian Commerce,Ukrainian National Statistical Database were data selected.
