In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization, the large-scale land acquisition and relocation are made by local governments. Therefore, more and more lost-land peasants have emerged. The so called lost-land peasants are those who lost their lands but still remain peasant status in the process of economic and social development because of urbanization and urban land.As a vulnerable group in the development of city,lost-land peasants face severe employment problems, low security of subsequent life and even a lot of petition issues after they lost land because of low educational level, skills shortage, conservative ideas and inadequate social security.Employment has a vital bearing on the people's livelihood.Only by solving employment problems, can their worries be solved, social conflicts be eased and social stability be ensured. The paper aims at trying to establish a practical and effective case study programme to solve lost-land peasants' employment issues. The significance of this study is to explore and enrich the study on solving lost-land peasants' employment problems in the field of social work practice. The paper mainly adopts the method of action research,in-depth interviews to collect data and analyze problems. In order to solve lost-land peasants' employment problems,group-work method of social work is used from the perspective of strengths, with a lost-land peasant taken as an example, and the realities of local land expropriation and house removal is taken into account as well.Chapter one mainly describes the background, purpose and significance of the study, literature review and the working methods and theories.Chapter two gets detailed information of a typical lost-land peasant through active contact. He is identified as the working client, whose needs and problems are assessed in this chapter.Chapter three introduces the formal courses of the intervention, the evaluation of the casework programme and the case work closure.According to crafted goals and plans, the intervention is divided into five stages.Chapter four is a summary and profound reconsideration about the case intervention. This thesis tries to explore a new way to help the lost-land peasants to solve their employment issues effectively and to provide a reference for further study on social work intervention in lost-land peasants' employment problems,by intervening into the problems of lost-land peasants' employment, with a lost-land peasant within the jurisdiction area as a typical client, using case work method.
