Despite the emergent trend towards the Electronic Commerce;there appears to be a deficit of wide-ranging and all-inclusive research for its impact on Organizational Performance.I addressed this deficit in the research and analytical literature by reviewing available literature in the field of Electronic Commerce and Organizational Performance.After reviewing past research literature;some very critical findings were made and are presented and elaborated in this paper.To study the impact of Electronic Commerce on Organizational Performance;numerous business and organizational processes and applications were needed to be studied.After briefly defining the different perspectives of Electronic Commerce used in this paper;I have presented an exhaustive literature on Electronic Commerce and Organizational Performance.I have included findings of major researches done till date and also summarily added quite a few empirical research findings.The objective of the literature review in this paper was to illustrate the proven advantages Electronic Commerce has brought to the Organizational Performance the world over.At the same time;I have put forward the challenges and issues encountered in capacity building of the organizations to fully capitalize on the potential and the expenditure on Electronic Commerce adaptation.During the research;I also explored the gaps in existing research and the requirements for future research in the domain on Electronic Commerce and Organizational Performance.I have covered all practical;real-world;and up-to-date applications of Electronic Commerce in the context of enhancement in Organizational Performance indicators.Starting with a comprehensive analysis of historical and implemented applications;I have also proposed the future applications and potentialities of Electronic Commerce,which can further enhance and accelerate Organizational Performance.
