“Belt and Road” is an open regional economic cooperation system. The strategy of “Belt and Road” is proposed to promote economic development and trade cooperation between China and the countries along the route, and to jointly build a community of shared interests and destiny between China and the countries along the route. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the trade patterns and influencing factors of China and the countries along the “Belt and Road”.Through analyzing the contents and conclusions of the research,it is possible to propose policy recommendations in line with the trade conditions of countries along the “Belt and Road”,promoting the implementation of China's “Belt and Road” strategy, and thus promote the economic development and trade cooperation of countries along the route. This research selects the total trade volume data of China and countries along the “Belt and Road” during 2006 to 2016 from the United Nations commodity trade database.Through using complex network methods and an expanded trade gravity model, the research qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed the trade patterns and influencing factors of China and countries along the “Belt and Road”.Firstly, the research scope of the “Belt and Road” was determined, and we have described the level of economic development of countries along the route and the current status of trade between China and the countries along the route.Secondly, the establishment of a complex network model, combined with statistical indicators of complex networks, including network degree distribution, density, diameter, clustering coefficient, etc.and the trade patterns of China and the countries along the route. The results show the density of the trade network has gradually increased. The trading network has become more and more connected.Furthermore, the community segmentation algorithm is used to analyze the community division and changes in China and “Belt and Road” trade network. The results show that there is a phenomenon of regional differentiation in the trade network, and the division of communities in the network is more obvious. Most countries tend to have trade relationship with the countries of their communities.Geographical location is still an important factor affecting the division of communities and the number of communities is decreasing. In the empirical analysis,an extended trade gravity model was used to conduct a regression analysis of the factors affecting China and the countries along “Belt and Road”,the influencing factors are GDP,geographic distance, resource trade, foreign direct investment flows and free trade agreement.Regression results show that geographical distance is still a resistance factor that affects the trade between China and countries along the route.GDP,resource trade, and free trade agreements all promote trade between China and countries along the route, and the promotion of economic scale was most obvious.Foreign direct investment does not have a significant impact on the trade between China and the countries along the route. Therefore,in the future, trade cooperation between China and the countries along the route can be further promoted by giving full play to China's leading role in trade, continuously optimizing countries' trade networks along the “Belt and Road”,continuously strengthening national infrastructure construction along the way,and actively conducting trade negotiations, forming a mutually beneficial and win-win situation.
