The Measurement Of Value Added Export Of China's Manufacturing Industry And Its Influencing Factors

With the further integration of the global value chain division,intermediate goods trade flourished.The imports and buyback of intermediate goods result in the traditional total value of statistics can not reflect a country's export level.The value added statistics which computes the value produced by domestic country and consumed by foreign countries can reflect one country's real export level.The manufacturing industry of China undertakes a lot of labor intensive production by the way of processing trade and forms the pattern of processing and assembling of the imports of intermediate goods and finally exports to other countries.This leads China's manufacturing to this kind of situation,that is,although there is a large accumulation of trade surplus but the actual benefit is very few and seriously distort the Chinese manufacturing level of exports.So,using the value added statistics to compute China's manufacturing is significant.First,this paper uses Stehrer(2012)model and the WIOD database to compute the manufacturing export level then analyses the calculation results from the total,subdivision of technical levels and export flow direction.The gross statistical illusion greatly exaggerated Chinese manufacturing output level,low technology is still an important part of manufacturing exports;the benefit market structure flows from developed economies to emerging economies,East Asia and the developing countries.The key areas' export flow direction within the EU is Germany and the UK accounting for a contrary trend,France,Italy,Spain's trend is the same,and the proportion is relatively stable.The key areas' export flow direction within the emerging economies is Russia and India showing the alternating change;Mexico and Brazil has the contrary trend.In East Asian economies,Japan's proportion is declining while South Korea is rising.Taiwan's proportion is stable.Secondly,based on the above calculation,establishing the panel data which the dependent variable is the calculating results from the calculating model,and the independent variable is chosen based on the influencing factors of the vertical division and the influencing the value added export including selection of technological innovation,labor productivity,industrial scale,the foreign capital.Finding that except foreign capital,the other three influencing factors have positive influence on the value added export.Finally,put forward including the increase of R&D,especially the development and application of core technology;rational use of foreign direct investment,and actively carry out foreign investment;and keep the advantage of labor,improve the quality of workers;the correct view of the advantages of scale economy,focusing on industrial development these four points to improve the connotation of manufacturing value added export level.
