Analysis On The Development Stages And Influence Factors Of Lin'an's Bamboo Industry Based On Industry Life Cycle

As a traditional industry,bamboo industry is characterized with obvious resource advantages,rapid development,sustainable ability and great potential,and plays a considerable role in promoting the economic development of Lin'an District,Hangzhou,providing employment opportunity for farmers and increasing their income.Nevertheless,with the socio-economic development,the change of demand structure in domestic and foreign market and of macroeconomic policies,issues such as rising labor cost and simplified product type arise and then affect the sustainable development and bamboo industry.This study,taking Lin'an as example,on the basis of analyzing and concluding the development process and current situation of its bamboo industry as well as industry life cycle theory,analyzes its current stages and characteristics and its influence factors,and seeks for the strategy of its sustainable development.The study process and result are as follows:?1?It analyzes the development changes of Lin'an bamboo industry since the1980s basing on Lin'an bamboo forest area and yield.Meanwhile,it analyzes the development process and characteristic through conclusion and description and concludes that Lin'an bamboo development is characterized by the expanding of bamboo forest area?in the 1980s?,by the market driving through bamboo shoot processing industry?in the 1990s?and by the linkage of“three industries”and efficient ecological security development(since the 21^st century).?2?Basing on industry life cycle theory,it analyzes the bamboo industry growth track by using the industry data from 1995 to 2015,makes logistic curve-fitting and judges that the inflection point of fitting curve is in 2004 and 2013 respectively.It draws a conclusion about the bamboo industry development stages,which include four stages of different industry development characteristics:birth stage,growth stage,maturation stage and and maturation to recession stage.Meanwhile,according to the study,Lin'an bamboo industry is now in an important transition phase from maturation to recession.The degradation of bamboo land affects the running and cultivation,while the shrink of bamboo processing market affects the positivity of running bamboo industry.?3?The main factors influencing bamboo industry include that of resource,technology,policy,market and organization.According to the study,natural endowment and regional distribution of bamboo forest resource are the two important aspects of resources that influence bamboo industry development;leading enterprises and farmer professional cooperative are the important factors in driving bamboo industry development.The study finds that,market factors incur different effects on enterprises and farmers.The needs of product market and the continuous evolution of product processing technology influence the industry development.However,at the initial development stage,the changes of market prices are mainly affected by bamboo forest area.Meanwhile,technology factors including bamboo forest running and bamboo shoot processing industry are of vital importance to bamboo industry development,and are also the key factors during the current bottleneck period.By analyzing the development process of Lin'an bamboo industry,it shows that the main policy factors affecting bamboo industry are intellectual property policy,the economic support policyand the environmental protection policy.The property right policy is the prerequisite and foundation for the development of bamboo industry,leading the direction of industry development.Economic policies include comprehensive policies and special policies,have an important impact on the development of specific bamboo forest cultivation,bamboo processing industry;The continuous implementation of environmental policies challenges the development of bamboo industry,especially the development of traditional bamboo processing enterprises.?4?Put forward countermeasures and advice to promote Lin'an bamboo industry development from five aspects including resource,organization,market,technology and policy.It includes,promoting ecologic running of bamboo forest,realizing the sustainable usage of resources,strengthening the leadership of new-type running to mobilize the transformation development of bamboo industry,advancing the construction of regional brand to enhance market competitiveness,intensifying technology research and promotion to integrate farmers into the development track of modern bamboo industry,and formulating effective policy measures to promote the integrated development of the whole industry chain.
