Research On The Relationship Among High-tech Enterprises' Niche,Core Competences And Performance

The development of high-tech firms has significant impacts on societies and economy for advancing technology.Thus,research on external environment and internal principle of enterprise performance improvement is useful to managerial practice.In order to analyze external environment and the interaction between it and companies thoroughly,the concept of enterprise niche is introduced into business studies,and according to characteristics of business research,many researchers has put forward some theories and other related concepts about it.As for internal principle,core competence is the source of competitive advantages and a crucial factor of performance improvement.In this research,the external and internal perspectives are considered simultaneously,so the research is mainly about the influences of enterprise niche on performance and the moderating effect of core competence on the relation between them.The methods of improving enterprise performance will be proposed by studying the relationship among these three constructs.There are five main parts in this dissertation,which are the literature review of three constructs,the conceptual model and hypotheses,empirical research design,data analysis,and conclusion and discussion.The findings are that core competence has moderate influence on the relation between enterprise niche width and finance,customer and internal process respectively,and on the relation between enterprise niche overlapping and finance,and customer respectively.According to these findings,some managerial suggestions are raised,which are that the optimization of enterprise niche,and the cultivation and improvement of core competence can enhance performance and achieve long-term development of the whole company.
