Since 2001,the Ministry of Land and Resources has launched the first round national investment projects for rural land reclamation, though remarkable achievements have been made in rural land reclamation, there are still many problems.Farmers,as the end users and beneficiaries of rural land reclamation projects, are most concerned about the quality of projects. We should actively and effectively guide farmers to participate in rural land reclamation so as to make the project location more scientific, more considerable in planning and design, and more convenient in implementation. Therefore, the study on farmers' participation in rural land reclamation has always been a focus point in the field of rural land use.the research on the relationship between villagers' correlation and farmers' participation in rural land reclamation is a new direction. In addition to a series of visible factors, such as land, labor and capital, the importance of invisible factors is also concerned by many scholars who study modern development theory. As a invisible social factor, villagers' correlation has an important influence on the harmonious development of rural society. It has been applied to the changes of rural land system, land use and protection of farmland benefits distribution, therefore the research on the relationship between villagers' correlation and farmers' participation in farmland reclamation is an interesting direction.Under this background,in view of space,we study the relationship between villagers' correlation and farmers' participation to rural land reclamation in different regions, explore patterns to promote farmers' participation in rural land reclamation with the perspective of villagers' correlation. This study takes the Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province as an example, based on prior research, through field surveys, using SPSS and Likert scale to construct questionnaire items about the villagers' correlation and farmers' participation in rural land reclamation.Using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to measure the farmers' participation;with the tool of Arcgis and Geoda software, using exploratory spatial data analysis to measure the spatial characteristics and disparities by data from 15 counties in Hexi Corridor;applying Geographically Weighted Regression,Spatial Lag Model and Spatial Error Model to analyze the influence factors of the spatial disparities. Finally, the Pearson correlation and Bivariate Moran's index are used to analyze the spatial association regulation of villagers' correlation and farmers' participation in rural land reclamation. The main findings are as follows:1.The average level of villagers' correlation in Hexi corridor is 60.81,and the overall level is generally low.The results of spatial visualization suggest that the spatial difference of villagers' correlation is disparate in Hexi corridor, the southeast is high, the northwest is low.Farmers' participation in rural land reclamation is also low, with an average level of 59.96,the calculation result is generally high in the east and the west and low in the middle.2.the spatial characteristics contribute to a clear structure, and there is a significant positive spatial auto-correlation.Local indicators of spatial association provides further evidence that the villager correlation is a “point-corridor-group” structure. The factors within or across the villages suggest a positive relation with villagers' correlation.Factors within the village show increasing trend from northwest to the southeast, and the trend is related to the geographical factors formed by the three rivers' system;while the factors across the village form a high value gathering center in the East and west of Hexi Corridor,it indicates that there are higher villagers' correlation in the east and west of the Hexi Corridor than that in the middle.3.The results of spatial correlation analysis show that, there is a significant positive spatial auto-correlation on the county level in the farmland reclamation in Hexi corridor. The “highlight regions” of farmers' participation are concentrated in Shiyang River and Shule River Basin while the counties belong to Suzhou District,Gaotai county,Linze County in Black River Basin are the “blind regions”,showing a “dumbbell” structure. The spatial error model shows that the farmland plots, the village cadres attitude towards rural land reclamation, farmers' expectations for products market cause a more significant effect on the spatial disparity of farmers' participation.4.The Pearson correlation coefficient of villagers' correlation and farmers' participation in land reclamation is 0.731,the Bivariate Moran's index is 0.518,it indicates that there is a significant positive spatial auto-correlation between the villagers' correlation and the farmers' the participation in Hexi corridor.Generally speaking, the positive effect of villagers' correlation on farmers' participation in rural land reclamation is greater than the negative ones. Therefore, while promoting farmers' active participation in farmland reclamation,we should improve villagers' correlation, carefully consider the natural and economic conditions in different regions to maintain the villagers' correlation in a reasonable level, thus can we encourage farmers to participate in rural land reclamation, and achieve the expected effect of reclamation improvement and income generation.
