China has always attached great importance to the development of information safety industry.Early in 2003,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council has approved and transmitted the report,“Suggestions Concerning the Strengthening of Information Safety Insurance Work”,submitted by the National Informatization Leading Group.In November 2016,the NPC Standing Committee passed the “Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China”,which was then put into practice on June 1,2017.All this has provided legal guarantee for information security,making it rise up to the strategic level involving national security,and will surely promote the rapid development of information security industry..S Technology Co.,Ltd,headquartered in Chengdu,was founded in 2001 with the registered capital RMB 20 million,which is the leading enterprise in China providing content security products,data security products,business security products and information safety services.In the initial development stage,the company established a KPI-oriented performance management system.But with the expanding of the business,the company began to provide a variety of products and services,attracting business customers all over the country.Moreover,the customers are increasingly strict with the quality of the delivered products.Under such circumstance,the existing system can't meet the requirements of company development,causing many problems in performance management,thereby weakening the company's competitiveness.As a result,the performance management system,especially the KPI-oriented assessment method,should be further optimized to promote the sound development of the company.As the director of Security Service Department of S Company,in this thesis,the author would choose S Company's Security Service Department as main sample,focusing on optimization and improvement of KPI assessment indicator according to the experiences from performance management optimization practice,hoping to provide solutions for the company's performance management,and also give some inspirations for the other companies within the industry.This thesis is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,including research situation and research methods,the reasons and meaning of choosing the topic.The second chapter summarizes the related theories and methods of performance management and KPI.The third chapter introduces the background and management structure of S Company and its Security Service Department,analyzes the existing performance assessment system from which different problems generated.The fourth chapter defines the improvement principle and ideas of KPI,according to KPI improvement practice,provides the optimized design about breaking down KPI assessment from company to each department to each program and to each employee.The fifth chapter describes how to optimize the performance management process of S Company and put it into practice on the basis of KPI improvement.The sixth chapter gives a conclusion and prospect for the study.
