In the field of color reproduction,the way of old-fashioned four-color printing added with spot colors has been difficult to meet the requirement of high precision that people asked for color reproduction.It is imperative to optimize the printing process to satisfy the demand of practical application which promoted the innovation of the methods and theory of color reproduction.In recent years,Multi-color separation replication technology,meaning different amounts of colour primaries such as orange green and blue would be added into traditional four-color printing separation which based on yellow,magneta,cyan and black,has become a popular topic in the research of the printing.In this way,we can enlarge the color gamut of old-fashioned four-color printing and improve the precision of color reproduction.Ultimately we can achieve the goal of enhancing printing color expressive force.This paper studied the method of Multi-color separation replication for printed original based on the ICISS(Interactive Color Independent Separation Software)separation model according to spot color ink,and established some Multi-color separation model based on" Kehai Ink" such as cyan,magneta,yellow,black,orange,green and blue.This paper also studied processing technology of patch-up after RIP combined with the CTP direct plate-making technology,and then completed the research of Multi-color separation replication for colour original associated with the CTP direct plate-making and patch-up after RIP processing technology.And the subjective and objective evaluation method of color image quality have been discussed in this paper.According to those evaluation methods,the printing quality of traditional four-color printing and Multi-primary printing samples are evaluated to judge the color performance ability.The quality of different color combination printing proof are analysed in order to find the best combination of ink.And this paper also studied the application value of patch-up after RIP processing technology in actual production.Compared with traditional printing,the amount and type of primary inks were increased in Multi-color separation replication,and all the colored printing ink except black are involved in the match of original color.So the color gamut is larger and the colour is more rich,brightly and colorful.The printing is more closer with the actual objects,which looks more reality,the level is more distinct and stereo feeling is more stronger.We should according the original color type to choose the appropriate color ink combination when we process separation for the same printing sample using different ink combination.It is a mistake that the more printing ink are used,the higher the quality of pringing would have.Multi-color separation replication processing technology avoid to cleanning the ink rollers repeatedly which often occurs in the old-fashioned four-color added with spot colors printing process.In this way we can obtain the same sample with limited ink device in the case of using as less as possible of spot color ink.Multi-color separation replication processing technology has a great practical value in practice production,being advantages of reducing the cost of production and improving the productivity.
