Continuous Caster is a kind of steel production equipment that makes the high temperature molten steel directly cast into the steel billet.Due to its advantages of its high production efficiency,high yield of metal,energy saving,good quality of billet and so on,it has been widely used.Continuous Caster has almost become a standard equipment of modern iron and steel enterprise,and continuous casting rate has become an important standard to judge whether a steel enterprise is advanced or not.Since the first slab caster was put into operation in BAOSTEEL in 1989,after nearly 30 years of construction,now there are 6 sets(12 strands)of slab caster with various specifications in this leading iron and steel enterprises of China.These casters,new and old and renewed,are put into production in different periods,and the device status and technological level of them are uneven.In production,these caster exposes some big and small problems,and most of them are common.Aiming at the problems such as excess manpower costs in manual operation,manual supervision in automatic process,lack of concentration of operating places and lack of emergency treatment flow process,etc.,it is necessary to optimize and improve the production process through control system hardware and software transformation.This study summarizes the author's research and development experience in more than ten years' caster control technology and the practice of nearly 10 CCM reconstruction projects,and refining and forming a complete set of optimization methods for continuous casting production process,including: using the latest mechatronics equipment,robots,etc.instead of manual labor and manual operation;using the expert systems to do monitoring and analysis in the automatic flow process,optimizing the operation and setting with the result of the process model;merging operating rooms to reduce operation dispersion;integrating the emergency treatment and collation into a standard automatic / semi-automatic process.On the basis of this,three different schemes for the transformation of different caster systems are given: the overall update scheme for the complete renewal of the aging system,part update scheme for partially retaining system upgrades and refactoring,system extension scheme for increasing the function of the mainstream system.We intensive studied the production expert system and process model of continuous casting process optimization,and illustrated the structure and function of production expert system and process model and the application method in process optimization with breakout prediction system as an example.This paper first discusses the development status of continuous casting production at home and abroad,analyzes and summarizes the problems in BAOSTEEL continuous casting production,and puts forward the technical route of this paper.Then,the optimization method of continuous casting production process and the implementation scheme of the system are given.Finally,the application of continuous casting process optimization in the implementation of the 1930 caster in Baosteel No.1 steelmaking plant is verified.
