Sorona filament is a part of renewable fiber developed by DuPont of the United States.Its main component,1,3-propanediol(PDO),is produced from the glucose in corn starch by microbial fermentation process.Sorona filament is one of the most promising fibers in the 21 st century because of its green ingredients,clean and non-polluting production process,low production cost,soft handfeel and good elasticity.At present,the research on Sorona filaments mostly focuses on the performance of filaments and the application of knitted fabrics.There are few researches on the development of Sorona filament composite yarns and the application on woven fabrics.This paper develops Sorona filament composite yarn and optimizes the spinning process parameters.WeavingSorona filament composite yarn fabrics and comparing the properties of different fabrics.It provides a reference for the development of Sorona filament composite yarns and its application on woven fabrics.(1)The tensile strength and load-bearing elastic recovery rate of Sorona filaments were analyzed and compared with the changes in filament properties after boiling water treatment.It is found that the elastic recovery rate of Sorona filaments decreases with the increase of constant load;the elongation at break of filaments increases obviously after heat treatment,and the elastic recovery performance deteriorates.(2)Exploring the Sorona filament composite yarn spinning scheme,using two twisted and three-strand spun Sorona filament/polyester filament Plyfil composite yarn,using Sirofil spinning,traditional Core-spun spinning and Sirospun core-spun spining spun Sorona filament/polyester roving composite yarns were compared,and the appearance,strength,elastic recovery rate,evenness rate and hairiness of the five composite yarns were compared.It was found that the Sorona filament composite yarn obtained by the two spinning methods of the three-strand Plyfil spinging and the Sirospun core-spun spinning have better comprehensive performance.(3)Optimize the 16.7tex and 25 tex Sorona filament/polyester filament Plyfil spinning process.The effects of twist factors and Sorona filament pre-tension on yarn properties were analyzed by single factor test and orthogonal test to determine the optimum process parameters.The analysis shows that for 16.7tex Sorona Plyfil,the optimum process parameters of the twist factor is 190,Sorona pre-tension is 7.5 gear;for 25 tex Sorona Plyfil,the optimum process parameters of the twist factor is 165,Sorona pre-tension is 5 gear.The Sorona Plyfil were subjected to boiling water treatment.It was found that the yarn after the boiling water treatment showed a three-dimensional spiral curl,the elongation property and the elastic property became better,the elongation at break became larger,and the elastic recovery rate of the fixed load decreased.(4)Optimized the spinning process of 16.7tex and 25 tex Sorona filament/polyester roving Sirospun core-spun yarn.The effects of twist factors,Sorona pre-tension and roving space on the properties of composite yarns were studied by single factor test and orthogonal test.According to the range analysis and variance analysis method,for 16.7tex Sorona Sirospun core-spun yarn,the best process parameters of the twist factor is 450,Sorona pre-tension is 2.5 gear,roving space is 5mm;for 25 tex Sorona Sirospun core-spun yarn,the best process parameters of the twist factor is 430,Sorona pre-tension is 3 gear,roving space is 4mm.The composite yarn is subjected to boiling water treatment to obtain a fine crimp structure on the surface of the Sorona Sirospun core-spun yarn,and the elongation and elastic properties are improved,the elongation at break is increased,the elastic recovery rate is reduced,and the yarn feel becomes soft and comfortable.(5)The plain weave woven fabric was tested with Sorona filament composite yarns and cotton yarn as the weft yarn,and the performance of the five fabrics was compared.The basic specifications of the weft density,gram weight and thickness of the fabric were tested.The tensile fracture properties,elastic recovery,abrasion resistance and wrinkle resistance of the fabric were tested and the results were analyzed.It was found that the Sorona Plyfil fabric has better tensile fracture and wear resistance than the Sorona Sirospun core-spun fabric.Sorona filament composite yarn fabrics outperform all cotton fabrics in all aspects.
