Slug catcher is a kind of primary separation equipment used to receive slug flow in the mixed transportation pipeline,which is usually arranged at the end of the mixed transportation pipeline.Its function is to eliminate slug flow and separate oil and gas simply,while providing stable transportation for the downstream.In China,the research and design of this equipment has been developed maturely,but there are still some deficiencies in separation efficiency and economy.In this paper,the working principle and design method of two kinds of slug catchers,container type and pipe type,are studied in depth,aiming to improve the separation efficiency and reduce the cost of the equipment.The work contents are as follows:(1)Taking the operation parameters of the mixed transportation pipeline between platform A and platform B in Bohai Sea as an example,a pigging model is established with the help of OLGA software.Comparing the simulation results with the field feedback data,it is found that the slug produced by the simulation is more consistent with the actual situation.(2)Because the original equipment of platform B is difficult to meet the production demand,this paper combines the field data and the pigging model to get the maximum slug quantity of pigging,and carries out the preliminary design of the container slug flow catcher required by platform B,and optimizes the scheme by referring to the design method summarized by the predecessors.With the help of FLUENT software,RSM model,VOF model and DPM model are respectively set up for 16 groups of models.After comparison and selection,the scheme with the lowest cost is finally selected under the condition of ensuring the production demand.(3)For the pipe slug catcher,this paper proposes two optimization schemes with the help of the existing domestic field equipment and the advanced research results at home and abroad.After establishing the model,RSM model and DPM model are set up with the help of FLUENT software,the separation efficiency of three kinds of equipment for droplets with particle size of 150 ? m,135 ? m,120 ? m,105 ? m,90 ? m,75 ? m and 60 ? m under the design throughput and production raising conditions respectively is simulated,and the scheme that meets the production demand and has the lowest cost is optimized while ensuring the 3300 m3 processing capacity of the original equipment.The purpose of this paper is to sort out the new design ideas and simulation data through the above research,and provide some reference for the following field process design and theoretical research.
