Environmental issues are increasingly becoming an important topic of international concern.As a developing country,the increase of the Indonesian population and the unordered development of the urbanization and the industrialization,combined with the traditional “Barba” custom and other reasons,the environment is seriously damaged,and the environmental protection problem is facing a great challenge.The Indonesian government's emphasis on environmental issues has spawned the emergence of environmental non-governmental organizations(NGOs).As the earliest,largest and most representative environmental non-governmental organization in Indonesia,Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia(WALHI)has not only done very well in environmental protection.According to the actual situation,it constantly improves its organization concept and activity principle,actively take part in environmental protection activities,actively play its role on society and take political participation.Indonesian environmental non-governmental organizations,in the process of its development,have taken a series of actions to ensure the implementation of environmental laws and regulations,and have successfully promoted the revision of the Indonesian Constitution by the Government in order to guarantee its power to protect the environment.Promoted the reform of Indonesia's political system,give full play to its own economic function to monitor the green development of Indonesia's economy… With the acceleration of global economic integrating,regions links tighter and tighter.Indonesian environmental non-governmental organizations have become more and more influential in the world by virtue of their well development in Indonesia.In dealing with international regional environmental issues,Indonesian environmental non-governmental organizations make use of their international participation capabilities to enrich the development of Indonesian international diplomacy.
