Giving priority to the development of urban public transport is a significant way to alleviate urban traffic congestion,environmental pollution,and other issues as well as to maintain the sustainable development of the city.As the main body of public transport in large and medium-sized cities,the operational reliability of the public transport is an important factor that affects the choice of passenger travel modes and the quality of transit service.The study of bus operation reliability plays a vital role in enhancing the attractiveness of public transport and improving the efficiency of public transport operations.With the widespread use of the intelligent public transport systems in various cities,the accumulated mass of bus operation data provides a new data environment for the study of the reliability of the bus system.At present,there is still a lack of a comprehensive evaluation method for public transit operation reliability.Thus,on the basis of the existing literature research,a multi-level bus reliability evaluation system which based on the bus stations,road sections and routes was constructed by taking hold in the operational characteristics of the bus itself.This evaluation system can comprehensively and objectively reflect the operation status of each bus stations,road sections and bus routes.Firstly,the evaluation indexes of the headway balance of the station and the reliability of the running time of the road section were studied separately.According to the evaluation indicator of the road link,the method to judge critical road sections was built using the coefficient of variation and the standard deviation of the road link running time as identification parameters.Taking the variation coefficient of the station headway and the running time of the section as the weight,the weighted comprehensive evaluation model based on bus route was established rested on the weighted synthesis of the two indexes.Secondly,this paper analyzed the data of public transit operation.Taking the research demand as the goal,the concrete data processing method was given.Based on the time characteristics of smart card data,clustering analysis and time matching algorithm were used to judge the boarding station,and the passenger flow of each station is obtained,which provided a basis for calculating the reliability evaluation index of bus operation.Finally,according to the established comprehensive evaluation index system,this paper evaluated and analyzed the reliability of the bus lines in Jinan from stations,sections and routes respectively,which provided a theoretical basis for the improvement of bus operation.
